Why AE

See the shade fall on your patio before we build.

A pergola can transform a sun-baked patio or sit awkward and undersized. The render shows the actual shadow line, scale, and finish in your yard — so the structure lands right the first time.

Common questions
What's the difference between a pergola and a ramada?+

A pergola has an open or slatted top — partial shade. A ramada has a solid roof (often tile or metal) for full sun and rain protection. We build both.

Do louvered pergolas work in Phoenix?+

Yes — motorized louvered roofs are excellent here. They open for spring/fall and close for summer sun or monsoon rain. We install premium powder-coated aluminum systems with rain sensors.

Do I need a permit for a pergola?+

In most Valley cities, freestanding structures over a certain size and attached structures require permits. We pull them as part of the build.

Can pergolas have fans, lights, and heaters?+

Yes — we run electrical for ceiling fans, LED downlights, infrared heaters, and outlets. All to code.

What materials hold up in the AZ sun?+

Powder-coated aluminum and steel last longest. Cedar looks beautiful but needs re-staining every 2–3 years. Tile-roof ramadas with steel framing are essentially maintenance-free.
