Hardscape & outdoor kitchens

Travertine, flagstone, and outdoor kitchens — built for AZ.

Your hardscape is the bones of the backyard. AE Outdoor Living builds patios, walkways, ramadas, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and seat walls in materials that handle 115° summers and monsoon rain. Engineered base, code-pulled permits, and a preview render before we lay a single paver.

Why AE

Hardscape that survives the desert.

AZ hardscape fails for predictable reasons: poor base, wrong material, no monsoon drainage. We engineer for caliche, expansive soil, and 4-inch summer downpours — then preview the finished space in your yard before construction.

Common questions
What hardscape materials work best in Arizona?+

Travertine, flagstone, and porcelain pavers handle AZ heat and monsoons best. We avoid stamped concrete in full-sun areas — it fades and cracks faster than natural stone.

Do you build outdoor kitchens?+

Yes — full BBQ islands with stucco or stacked-stone veneer, granite tops, built-in grills, kegerators, refrigerators, and sinks. Gas, electrical, and water lines all pulled to code.

How long does a paver patio take?+

Most patios install in 5–14 days depending on size, base prep, and demo. We schedule around monsoon season to avoid base wash-outs.

What about fire pits and fireplaces?+

Built-in gas or wood-burning fire pits, full hearth fireplaces, and gas firetables — designed to match your hardscape and code-permitted.

Do pavers need sealing?+

Travertine yes (every 2–3 years). Porcelain no. We include first-coat sealing on all paver installs.

About scope, pricing & approvals

Projects are designed and installed to meet applicable Arizona, city, county, and HOA requirements when those reviews are included in the approved project scope.

Pricing depends on scope, materials, access, utilities, drainage, site conditions, and design complexity. Quotes are confirmed after an AE designer reviews your project.

AI concepts are inspirational and must be reviewed by AE before they can become a real project plan. Renders are not engineering, permit, or construction documents.

Permit, HOA, engineering, and code requirements vary by city, county, neighborhood, and project scope. Your final, signed AE agreement and any city/HOA approvals control the work performed.
