Landscape design

Sonoran landscape, designed for evening living.

Native agave, palo verde, citrus, and golden barrel — laid out around your patio and pool with smart drip irrigation and warm desert lighting. AE landscape designs read Arizona, not generic suburban Florida.

Why AE

Plants that belong here — and a render to see them in your yard.

Most landscape mock-ups are 2D plant lists. Ours is a render of your actual yard, in evening light, with the exact plants and lighting we're proposing. You see the design, not a spreadsheet.

Common questions
What plants do best in the Phoenix climate?+

Agave, palo verde, mesquite, ironwood, sage, lantana, bougainvillea, citrus, and desert milkweed all thrive here. We avoid water-hungry, shock-prone species like ficus and most palms outside microclimates.

Do you install irrigation?+

Yes — pressure-regulated drip with smart controllers (Hydrawise, Rachio). We zone by water need, not just by bed, so your agave and your citrus aren't on the same schedule.

What about desert lighting?+

Low-voltage LED path, uplighting on specimen trees and saguaros, soffit downlights, and pool/water feature lighting. Transformer-based systems with 25-year fixtures.

Will my plants survive the summer?+

If they're native or desert-adapted and irrigated correctly, yes. We don't plant tropicals that need 115° rescue — and we hand off a planting and irrigation guide.

Do you do full backyard re-designs?+

Yes — full demo, grading, hardscape, plants, lighting, and irrigation in one project. Or phased over multiple seasons.

About scope, pricing & approvals

Projects are designed and installed to meet applicable Arizona, city, county, and HOA requirements when those reviews are included in the approved project scope.

Pricing depends on scope, materials, access, utilities, drainage, site conditions, and design complexity. Quotes are confirmed after an AE designer reviews your project.

AI concepts are inspirational and must be reviewed by AE before they can become a real project plan. Renders are not engineering, permit, or construction documents.

Permit, HOA, engineering, and code requirements vary by city, county, neighborhood, and project scope. Your final, signed AE agreement and any city/HOA approvals control the work performed.
