Why AE

See the kitchen in your real backyard first.

Counter height, grill placement, bar seating, sightlines from the pool — these are easier to feel in a rendering than on a plan view. Upload your yard photo, render the kitchen, then we build exactly that.

Where we build

Local expertise across the Valley.

Scottsdale & North Scottsdale

Resort-grade cook stations for Scottsdale estates.

From Silverleaf to DC Ranch to Troon North, AE builds full outdoor kitchens with Lynx and Hestan appliances, stone-clad islands, and HOA-approved ramada integration. We know the Silverleaf DRB and Troon design review process and submit complete packages on the first pass.

Do you build outdoor kitchens in Silverleaf and DC Ranch?+

Yes — we are a regular builder behind both gates. We carry insurance certificates, ROC numbers, and submittal sets formatted for Silverleaf DRB and DC Ranch architectural review, which keeps approvals on a 2–4 week cycle.

What's a typical Scottsdale outdoor kitchen budget?+

Most North Scottsdale clients land between $45,000 and $95,000 for a full L-shape kitchen with Lynx grill, side burner, pizza oven, beverage center, granite or porcelain counter, and stone cladding integrated with a ramada.

Paradise Valley

Estate kitchens for Paradise Valley view lots.

Mountain-view kitchens in PV demand low-profile islands that don't break the Camelback or Mummy sightline. We design seated counters and ramada heights to preserve the view, with discreet appliance garages and uplit stone cladding for evening entertaining.

Will a kitchen island block my Camelback view?+

Not when we design it. AE uses a sightline study at the kitchen and seating heights you actually use — standing at the grill, seated at the bar, dining at the table — and sets the island and ramada heights below those sightlines.

Does Paradise Valley require special permits for outdoor kitchens?+

Town of Paradise Valley requires permits for gas, electrical, and any structural cover. We pull all permits, coordinate Town inspectors, and provide stamped plans when required for ramada integration.

Phoenix · Arcadia · Biltmore

Mid-century and Spanish-revival kitchens for historic Phoenix.

Arcadia, Biltmore, North Central, and Willo neighborhoods need kitchens that match the architecture — stucco islands with smooth-trowel finish, saltillo and terracotta accents, low-profile lighting. We design to the home, not on top of it.

Can you match my Arcadia ranch or Spanish-revival home?+

Yes — this is most of our central Phoenix work. We match stucco color and texture, integrate saltillo or terracotta tile detailing, and use vintage-style lighting to keep the kitchen consistent with mid-century or Spanish-revival architecture.

Do small Arcadia lots have room for a full kitchen?+

Almost always. Even a 12-foot run along an existing fence or block wall fits a grill, side burner, prep counter, and a beverage drawer. We've installed full functional kitchens in courtyards as tight as 10×14 feet.

Mesa · Gilbert · Chandler

East Valley kitchens for family entertaining.

East Valley homes favor larger footprints — full L-shapes, dedicated bar seating, smoker stations, and integrated pizza ovens. We coordinate with East Valley pool builds and travertine decks for a single cohesive entertaining zone.

Do you build outdoor kitchens in Gilbert and Chandler?+

Yes — Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, and Queen Creek are core service areas. We pull Town of Gilbert and City of Chandler permits weekly and coordinate with HOAs in Power Ranch, Seville, Layton Lakes, and Morrison Ranch.

Can the kitchen tie into my existing East Valley pool?+

Yes — we frequently retrofit kitchens onto existing pools and travertine decks. We core the deck for gas and electrical, match existing stone or paver, and tie the kitchen lighting into the pool's existing controller.

Common questions
How much does an outdoor kitchen cost in Phoenix?+

A quality built-in kitchen with stainless grill, side burner, refrigerator, prep counter, and stone or stucco cladding typically runs $18,000–$55,000 in the Valley. Full cook stations with pizza ovens, smokers, and bar seating run $45,000–$120,000+.

What appliances do you install?+

We install premium outdoor-rated brands: Lynx, DCS, Blaze, Bull, Coyote, Hestan, Alfresco, Twin Eagles, Kalamazoo. Grills, side burners, power burners, pizza ovens, smokers, refrigerators, kegerators, ice makers, and warming drawers.

Do outdoor kitchens need permits in Phoenix?+

Yes for gas, electrical, and plumbing tie-ins. AE pulls all required City of Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Maricopa County permits, coordinates inspections, and handles HOA architectural submittals.

What's the best counter material for Arizona outdoor kitchens?+

Granite, porcelain slab (Dekton, Neolith), and natural quartzite are our top recommendations — UV-stable, heat-resistant, and tolerant of monsoon moisture. Engineered quartz fades and is not recommended for full-sun installs.

Can you build an outdoor kitchen under a ramada?+

Yes — this is our most popular configuration. We coordinate the ramada framing, gas/electrical chases, exhaust hood (where required), and lighting so the kitchen is fully integrated, not retrofitted.

Do you build outdoor pizza ovens?+

Yes — wood-fired, gas, and hybrid. We install Alfa, Ooni Pro, Forno Bravo, and custom stone-built ovens with proper hearth, flue, and surround engineered for Phoenix UV and monsoon weather.

What about an outdoor bar?+

Full bar builds with raised seating counter, kegerator, ice well, sink, glass storage, bar fridge, and overhead lighting. Built-in bars typically add $12,000–$35,000 to a kitchen project.

How do I keep my outdoor kitchen cool in summer?+

Combine a covered ramada, high-velocity fans, and (in many AE builds) a high-pressure misting system. With those three, even July evenings stay 20–30°F cooler than the open patio.

Can I add a fireplace or firepit to the kitchen area?+

Yes — gas firepits, linear fire features, and full outdoor fireplaces are common in our kitchen builds. Properly placed, they extend the season into Phoenix winter evenings, when the patio is at its best.

How long does an outdoor kitchen build take?+

A standalone kitchen runs 4–7 weeks from permit issuance. Integrated with a pool or ramada, it runs concurrent with the larger project and adds 1–2 weeks to the overall schedule.
