Is glass pool fencing legal in Arizona?+
Yes — frameless and semi-frameless glass barriers are fully compliant with Arizona Revised Statutes §36-1681 and Maricopa County pool barrier code when installed at the correct height (60" minimum) with code-spec hardware and self-latching gates.
How much does glass pool fencing cost in Phoenix?+
Frameless glass runs $200–$375 per linear foot installed; semi-frameless runs $140–$220 per linear foot. A typical Scottsdale pool perimeter (60–100 linear feet) usually runs $14,000–$35,000 depending on glass thickness and hardware finish.
What's the difference between frameless and semi-frameless?+
Frameless uses minimalist stainless spigots (no top or vertical frames) and is the most modern, view-preserving option. Semi-frameless uses slim posts every 4–6 feet with no top rail. Both are equally code-compliant; the choice is purely aesthetic and budget-driven.
How thick is the glass?+
We install 12mm (1/2") tempered safety glass for residential frameless installs and 10mm for semi-frameless. All glass is heat-soaked tempered to virtually eliminate the risk of spontaneous fracture from nickel sulfide inclusions.
Will the glass break in monsoon storms?+
Tempered safety glass is engineered for high wind loads and impact. Properly installed frameless panels handle 90+ mph gusts. The most common monsoon issue is debris scratching — addressed with periodic professional cleaning, not replacement.
How do you clean glass pool fencing in Arizona?+
Phoenix hard water and dust mean monthly rinsing and a quarterly squeegee with a hard-water remover (CLR or a glass-specific calcium product). Most clients add glass cleaning to their existing pool service for an extra $25–$50 per month.
Can the fence be self-installed?+
We don't recommend it. Frameless installs require core-drilling into concrete or pavers, precision spigot placement, level glass-to-glass alignment, and code-compliant gate hardware. A failed inspection means tear-out and re-install.
Does glass fencing affect pool inspection?+
No — properly installed glass passes the same final pool barrier inspection as block wall or wrought-iron fencing. We coordinate the inspection directly with City of Scottsdale, Phoenix, or your jurisdiction.
Can you install around an existing pool?+
Yes — retrofitting glass fencing around an existing pool is one of our most-requested projects. We core-drill spigots into existing pool deck, set glass, and finish the deck cuts so the install looks original.
Will my HOA approve glass pool fencing?+
Most Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and DC Ranch HOAs approve glass barriers — many actively prefer them over view-blocking block walls. We provide HOA-ready submittal packages with elevations, materials, and code references.
